Research Ethics and Data Management I
Course I
The first Research Ethics and Data Management Course is an integral component of the IMPRS Global Multiplicity training. Aimed at preparing students for ethical and effective research practices, this intensive three-day event is particularly focused on the preparatory phase before engaging in ethnographic fieldwork. The course will guide doctoral researchers in developing an understanding of ethical issues, including dilemmas in the field, informed consent, anonymization, and positionality. Additionally, it addresses risk assessment, emergency response strategies, and essential research data management principles, such as data security, organization, and the FAIR and CARE guidelines. Through a combination of reflective and practical exercises, participants will enhance their ability to navigate ethical challenges and implement responsible data management practices.
