Partner Institutions
The graduate school is the collaborative effort of four prominent institutions that have joined forces to pursue a shared vision. The Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Leipzig University and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg are recognized as leaders in the anthropological-oriented study of social dynamics. All partners have a long and successful history of collaboration in research and research education. The IMPRS will help to create further synergies between these four institutions.

At FAU we work with:

At Leipzig University our partners are:

- the Institute for the Study of Culture.
Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg
At Martin Luther University, we cooperate with:
- the Faculty of Law and Economics and Business, and with
- the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology (Faculty of Philosophy I).
Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology
At the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropoloy, involved are:
- the Department ‘Anthropology of Economic Experimentation’,
- the Department ‘Anthropology of Politics and Governance’, and
- the Department ‘Law and Anthropology’.
